We became full-time RVers for a couple of reasons:
- It’s fun.
- We love to travel
- It allows us to live on very little money
But the biggest reason is political.
We don’t want to pay into a system that encourages some people to work every day until they die to pay for others to not work at all.
In fact, Obamacare was the straw that broke the camels back for us.
My insurance before Obamacare was 300.00/month. After Obamacare, it was 1500.00/month.
That meant that I was now paying for my insurance plus 4 other people’s. I don’t want to pay for other people to have insurance. Especially, other people who I don’t know, who don’t take care of themselves and who don’t pay into the system.
So, we gave up insurance and now we self-insure.
And, we make as little as possible to sustain ourselves so we don’t pay into the welfare system through our yearly income tax bill.
We call it “tapping out” which for us is a completely voluntary leave of an unfair situation.
By doing this, we’ve reduced all our stress through reducing our financial burdens and we are happy and stress-free for the first time in years.
